jameri is my alias, a name concocted from my heritage: you see, i'm second generation american. 3 out of 4 my grandparents immigrated to the states from jamaica, #4 from greneda (another caribbean island). back home in nu-yawk-citi, all my jamaican-born friends called me jamerican since i am a hybrid born in the states. (ironically, i was born in jamaica, queens! ha!) ya mon! 'nuff respect!
i have accumulated in my short visit to this planet a cast of souls so important that i fell in love with them and offered residency in my heart. i give thanks to God for the blessings of my family (they helped create this neurotic mess i have become). dispite all their efforts to drive me completely out of my mind, i turned out halfway decent (forgive the self-deprication). so, i'm the mother of the best child in the universe, the daughter of a phenominal couple (now divorced), the wife of a remarkable man (whose sanity i repeatedly question), the mother of the first and second greatest kids on the planet! and finally (and most predominantly) the best self-friend i could ever ask for, as you will discover in this blog.
